About the Role
As an AVP/VP‑level Data Engineer, you will lead the design, development, and optimization of large‑scale data pipelines that power critical investment decisions. You will partner with data scientists, product managers, and infrastructure teams to deliver reliable, high‑performance data solutions on modern cloud platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and maintain end‑to‑end data pipelines using SQL, PySpark, Snowflake, DBT, and Redshift.
- Lead data modeling efforts to create scalable, normalized/denormalized schemas for analytical workloads.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust ETL/ELT processes.
- Implement CI/CD for data workflows and ensure production reliability through monitoring and alerting.
- Mentor junior engineers and champion best practices in data engineering and cloud security.
- Drive performance tuning, cost optimization, and governance across the data platform.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 10+ years of hands‑on experience in data engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior/lead capacity.
- Deep expertise in SQL and Python, especially PySpark for distributed processing.
- Proven experience with Snowflake, DBT, and Amazon Redshift in production environments.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, warehouse design, and ETL/ELT best practices.
- Hands‑on experience with AWS services (S3, Glue, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch).
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work cross‑functionally.
Nice to Have
- Experience with streaming platforms such as Kafka or Kinesis.
- Familiarity with generative AI tools for data cataloging or automated pipeline generation.
- Knowledge of data governance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and security compliance.
