Developer (Backend – Order Management)

About the Role

vidaXL is a fast‑growing international e‑commerce company with a pragmatic, data‑informed culture. As a Backend Developer in the Order Management team, you will design, build and maintain the services that drive the full order lifecycle – from intake to delivery – for millions of customers worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high‑performance services supporting end‑to‑end order management.
• Design scalable, reliable REST APIs and integrate with internal and external systems.
• Translate business requirements into clean, production‑ready code in collaboration with Product Owners and Tech Leads.
• Improve existing flows, enhance platform performance, and reduce latency.
• Participate in agile ceremonies: sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, retrospectives.
• Ensure code quality through unit/integration testing, peer reviews, and adherence to engineering standards.
• Monitor production, troubleshoot incidents, and drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally to ensure smooth releases and stable operations.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• 3–10 years of professional experience in backend development.
• Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot framework.
• Hands‑on experience building RESTful APIs and micro‑service architectures.
• Solid understanding of relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and SQL.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, SQS).
• Version control using Git and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
• Good grasp of Docker/containerisation concepts.
• Ability to work in an agile, fast‑paced environment and communicate effectively.

Nice to Have

• Experience with event‑driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Knowledge of Kubernetes or other orchestration tools.
• Exposure to front‑end technologies (React/Angular) for end‑to‑end understanding.
• Understanding of e‑commerce order flows and logistics.
