About the Role
Sonata Software is seeking versatile Full-Stack PHP Engineers to join our engineering teams across multiple business units. You will work on new product development, application enhancements, modernization, integrations, and specialized engineering projects, handling both modern PHP applications and legacy enterprise systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain PHP applications using Laravel or Symfony.
- Build and consume RESTful APIs and integrate with enterprise services.
- Develop responsive front‑end features with React, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Identify and execute modernization opportunities for legacy codebases.
- Upgrade PHP versions, frameworks, libraries, and dependencies.
- Optimize relational (MySQL) and NoSQL database performance.
- Collaborate with DevOps, QA, and product teams to deliver high‑quality releases.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 2‑8 years of professional experience with PHP 7/8.
- Strong hands‑on experience with Laravel or Symfony.
- Proficiency in front‑end frameworks: React, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Solid understanding of SQL/MySQL and ability to work with NoSQL stores.
- Experience building and consuming REST APIs.
- Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Problem‑solving mindset and ability to work with unfamiliar codebases.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
