About the Role
Google's Gurugram campus is looking for a seasoned Kubernetes Platform Infrastructure Engineer to join the Borg & Cloud team. You will design, develop, test, and operate large‑scale container orchestration platforms that power billions of Google users worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and implement highly available, multi‑regional Kubernetes clusters integrated with Borg workloads.
- Develop automation tooling in Go, Python, and C++ for provisioning, scaling, and self‑healing of infrastructure.
- Collaborate with product engineering teams to define service level objectives (SLOs) and ensure compliance.
- Drive performance tuning, capacity planning, and cost optimization across the platform.
- Implement robust CI/CD pipelines using Terraform, Bazel, and internal Google tools.
- Monitor system health, troubleshoot incidents, and lead post‑mortems.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 5+ years of experience building and operating large‑scale container orchestration systems (Kubernetes, Borg, or similar).
- Strong programming skills in Go and/or C++ with solid Python scripting abilities.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems concepts: consensus, fault tolerance, and networking.
- Hands‑on experience with cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud Platform), Terraform, and CI/CD frameworks.
- Proficiency in Linux system administration, networking, and security best practices.
Nice to Have
- Experience with service mesh technologies (Istio, Anthos Service Mesh).
- Knowledge of GPU workloads and AI/ML pipelines.
- Familiarity with observability stacks (Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Stackdriver).
