PHP Developer

About the Role

CaliberFocus, a leading digital solutions provider, is seeking a skilled PHP Developer to join our Chennai team. You will design, develop, and maintain high‑performance web applications and RESTful APIs using modern PHP frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop backend services with PHP, leveraging Laravel or CodeIgniter.
• Design and implement scalable REST APIs for internal and external consumption.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following best practices.
• Optimize and manage MySQL or PostgreSQL databases, including schema design and query tuning.
• Collaborate with front‑end, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
• Integrate third‑party services and APIs securely.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• 2–5 years of professional PHP development experience.
• Strong proficiency in PHP 7.x/8.x.
• Hands‑on experience with Laravel or CodeIgniter.
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design and implementation.
• Proficient in MySQL or PostgreSQL database design and optimization.
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Git version control.
• Good grasp of MVC architecture and basic security best practices.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Docker or containerised deployments.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
