About the Role

Google's Quantum AI Lab in Mumbai is seeking a Quantum Algorithms Engineer to design, develop, test, and deploy quantum‑ready software at Google scale. You will work alongside world‑class researchers and engineers to create algorithms that solve real‑world problems for billions of users.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop novel quantum algorithms for optimization, simulation, and machine‑learning workloads.
• Implement and benchmark algorithms using Qiskit, Cirq, and custom low‑level quantum SDKs.
• Collaborate with hardware teams to co‑design algorithms that leverage Google’s superconducting qubit architecture.
• Write production‑grade code, conduct rigorous testing, and ensure scalability across Google’s cloud infrastructure.
• Publish research findings in top conferences and contribute to internal knowledge bases.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Ph.D. or Master’s in Quantum Computing, Computer Science, Physics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in algorithm design and software engineering.
• Strong programming skills in Python and C++.
• Hands‑on experience with quantum SDKs such as Qiskit, Cirq, or Forest.
• Deep understanding of linear algebra, quantum mechanics, and complexity theory.

Nice to Have

• Experience with high‑performance computing (HPC) and GPU acceleration.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform services.
• Publications in top quantum computing conferences or journals.
