About the Role
Jobgether is partnering with a fast‑growing tech firm to hire a Senior PHP/Laravel Developer who also brings strong infrastructure and DevOps expertise. You will own end‑to‑end delivery of data‑driven, business‑critical applications while ensuring the underlying platforms are reliable, secure, and scalable.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy high‑performance PHP/Laravel services using Filament and PostgreSQL.
- Modernize legacy codebases, reduce technical debt, and implement performance optimisations.
- Architect, provision, and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, IAM) using Docker, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Implement automated testing, static analysis, code‑quality gates, and monitor applications with Prometheus/Grafana.
- Collaborate with product, QA, and SRE teams to troubleshoot incidents and improve system resilience.
- Document architecture decisions, runbooks, and deployment procedures.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 5+ years of professional PHP development experience, with deep expertise in Laravel (including Queues, Events, Service Container).
- Strong command of PostgreSQL schema design, query optimisation, and migrations.
- Hands‑on experience with Docker, Kubernetes (or ECS), and infrastructure‑as‑code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Proficiency in setting up CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins) and automated testing frameworks (PHPUnit, Pest).
- Solid understanding of Linux system administration, networking, and security best practices.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote‑first environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience with serverless services (AWS Lambda, API Gateway).
- Familiarity with event‑driven architectures and message brokers (RabbitMQ, Kafka).
- Knowledge of front‑end technologies (Vue.js, React) for full‑stack collaboration.
