About the Role
EY’s Global Delivery Services (GDS) AI & Data practice is looking for a Senior Snowflake Data Engineer to design, build and operate AI‑enabled data platforms. You will own end‑to‑end data products, ensuring they are secure, performant and aligned with business value.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement secure, scalable data products on Snowflake using warehouses, dynamic tables, Snowpark, streams, tasks, and Snowpipe.
- Build data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, testing and performance optimisation pipelines using SQL, Python, Snowpark, dbt or comparable patterns.
- Own batch and streaming data products, selecting appropriate data models, processing patterns, quality controls and service level expectations.
- Troubleshoot complex performance, reliability and cost issues; establish reusable engineering patterns and guide code reviews.
- Translate business requirements into reusable, tested data products with clear ownership, contracts and documentation.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with deep expertise in Snowflake.
- Strong command of SQL, Python and Snowpark.
- Hands‑on experience with data modelling, data ingestion, and performance optimisation.
- Familiarity with dbt and modern data pipeline orchestration.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure) and security best practices.
Nice to Have
- Experience with AI/ML integration on Snowflake.
- Knowledge of real‑time streaming architectures.
- Experience in leading a small team or mentoring juniors.
