Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) – Core Infrastructure

About the Role

Google’s Gurugram campus is expanding its Core Infrastructure team. As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) you will design, develop, test, and deploy software solutions that operate at Google scale, serving billions of users across our global product portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain highly available, low‑latency services that power core Google products.
• Design and implement automation frameworks to reduce manual toil.
• Develop monitoring, alerting, and incident response tooling using GCP Stackdriver, Prometheus, and custom solutions.
• Collaborate with software engineering, product, and security teams to ensure reliability, performance, and security.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and lead post‑mortems to drive continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• 5+ years of experience in large‑scale systems engineering or site reliability.
• Strong proficiency in Linux/Unix environments and networking concepts.
• Hands‑on programming experience in Python, Go, or C++.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, containers, and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Cloud Deployment Manager.
• Proven ability to design robust monitoring, alerting, and incident management processes.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform services (Compute Engine, Bigtable, Spanner).
• Knowledge of performance profiling and capacity planning.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Cloud Build, GitHub Actions).
• Contributions to open‑source SRE tools or libraries.
