About the Role
NIIT is seeking a seasoned Senior Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and delivery of high‑throughput, multi‑tenant applications that power our global learning platforms. You will work across the full stack, shaping architecture, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring robust, scalable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement high‑performance RESTful APIs and background services using PHP (Laravel) and Node.js (Fastify/Express).
- Develop responsive, modular front‑end applications with React.js, Tailwind CSS, Vite, and Bun.
- Architect multi‑tenant data models with strict isolation, leveraging PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Redis for caching/queuing.
- Structure codebases as modular monoliths using Composer path repositories and pnpm/Bun workspaces, adhering to SOLID principles.
- Enforce coding standards (PSR‑1/4/12, TypeScript), automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with DevOps to configure Nginx/Apache, Docker containers, and cloud environments.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 5+ years of professional software development experience.
- Deep expertise in PHP (Laravel) and Node.js ecosystems.
- Strong front‑end skills with React.js, TypeScript, and modern build tools.
- Hands‑on experience with relational (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and document (MongoDB) databases.
- Proficiency in Redis for caching and message queuing.
- Solid understanding of SOLID design principles and modular monolith architecture.
- Experience with Git workflows, automated testing, and CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar).
Nice to Have
- Message brokers such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Redis Streams.
- Containerization with Docker and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure‑as‑code.
