About the Role
Join Google's engineering team at the UK headquarters in King's Cross, London. As a Machine Learning Engineer working across DeepMind and Search, you will design, develop, test, and deploy large-scale ML solutions that power billions of users worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Research, prototype, and productionize state-of-the-art machine learning models for search relevance and AI-driven products.
- Collaborate with DeepMind researchers to translate cutting-edge research into scalable services.
- Build data pipelines and feature stores using Google Cloud technologies.
- Optimize models for latency, throughput, and cost at Google scale.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to code reviews, testing frameworks, and best-practice guidelines.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 5+ years of professional experience in machine learning or AI engineering.
- Strong programming skills in Python and C++/Java.
- Hands-on experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, or JAX.
- Deep understanding of statistical modelling, optimisation, and large-scale distributed training.
- Proficiency with Google Cloud Platform services (BigQuery, Dataflow, Vertex AI).
- Experience building production ML pipelines and serving models at low latency.
