About the Role
Talan Data x AI is seeking a seasoned Senior Data Engineering Consultant with deep expertise in Databricks to join our London office. You will partner with leading clients across multiple industries, designing and delivering modern data platforms that unlock actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and optimise end‑to‑end data pipelines on Databricks and Apache Spark.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
- Lead technical workshops and provide mentorship to junior engineers.
- Ensure data quality, governance, and performance best practices are embedded in all deliverables.
- Drive continuous improvement by evaluating emerging technologies and recommending innovative approaches.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering, data warehousing, or related fields.
- Hands‑on expertise with Databricks, Spark, and cloud data services (AWS or Azure).
- Proficient in Python, SQL, and data modelling concepts.
- Strong client‑facing and stakeholder management abilities.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Proactive, self‑motivated, and capable of working both independently and within a team.
Nice to Have
