PHP Developer

About the Role

PPStack, a global EdTech leader, is looking for a skilled PHP Developer to join its remote engineering team. You will design, develop, and maintain web applications that power our AI‑driven learning platforms, corporate training portals, and digital branding tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Write clean, modular, and performant PHP code using Laravel or Symfony.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and integrate third‑party services.
• Collaborate with product managers, UI/UX designers, and fellow engineers to deliver new features.
• Optimize database queries (MySQL/PostgreSQL) for speed and scalability.
• Conduct code reviews, write unit/integration tests, and maintain technical documentation.
• Monitor application performance, troubleshoot bugs, and enforce security best practices.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• 2‑4 years of professional PHP development experience.
• Strong grasp of OOP concepts and modern PHP frameworks (Laravel or Symfony).
• Proficiency with relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and writing efficient SQL.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Version control using Git; familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
• Basic knowledge of front‑end technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript) to support integration tasks.

Nice to Have

• Docker or containerisation experience.
• Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Familiarity with message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka).
• Exposure to AI/ML concepts in EdTech.
