Senior Software Engineer

About the Role

SamCart is an AI‑first e‑commerce platform that leverages Claude to generate production‑ready code. As a Senior Software Engineer you will guide the AI, validate its output, and own the end‑to‑end delivery of features that power thousands of online businesses.

Key Responsibilities

• Take loosely defined product briefs to shipped, stable features, owning design, implementation, and production monitoring.
• Make architecture decisions in a mature PHP/Laravel codebase and a React/Next.js front‑end.
• Review, test, and refactor Claude‑generated code to meet performance, security, and reliability standards.
• Partner closely with Product Managers to shape scope, flag technical risk, and prioritize work.
• Mentor junior engineers and champion AI‑augmented development practices.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Deep expertise in PHP (Laravel) and modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Next.js).
• Hands‑on experience with AI‑code assistants (Claude, GitHub Copilot) and ability to assess generated code.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, RESTful APIs, and database design (MySQL/PostgreSQL).
• Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and cloud platforms (AWS preferred).

Nice to Have

• Experience with TypeScript, GraphQL, or serverless architectures.
• Background in e‑commerce or SaaS platforms.
• Familiarity with test‑driven development and automated testing frameworks.
