About the Role
Google’s Bengaluru engineering hub is seeking a passionate Mobile Engineer to own the Android platform and ecosystem across multiple Google products. You will design, develop, test, and ship high‑impact features that serve billions of users worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and implement core Android libraries, frameworks, and tooling used by product teams.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional engineers, UX designers, and product managers to deliver scalable, high‑performance mobile solutions.
- Drive end‑to‑end development lifecycle: design, code, code‑review, testing, CI/CD, and production monitoring.
- Optimize app performance, memory usage, and battery consumption at Google scale.
- Mentor junior engineers and champion best practices in Android development.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 5+ years of professional Android development experience.
- Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Java, with deep understanding of Android SDK and Jetpack components.
- Experience building reusable libraries, SDKs, or platform services.
- Solid grasp of software design patterns, architecture (MVVM/MVI), and clean code principles.
- Proficiency with RESTful APIs, ProGuard/R8, and modern build systems (Gradle).
- Hands‑on experience with automated testing (JUnit, Espresso) and CI/CD pipelines.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Jetpack Compose, Android App Bundles, and Play Store publishing.
