Software Engineer - Service Platform

About the Role

ByteDance's Service Platform team is looking for a Software Engineer to design, develop, and optimise core platform services that power our global ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimise core platform services and ecosystem components.
• Collaborate with AI infrastructure teams to integrate specialised tooling and execution environments.
• Continuously improve platform efficiency and cost‑effectiveness through system optimisation.
• Establish and enforce platform engineering best practices across internal product lines.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
• Proficiency in Go, Python, Rust or TypeScript with strong systems programming skills.
• Deep understanding of Linux, networking (TCP/IP, HTTP) and distributed systems.
• Experience building infrastructure products such as monitoring, logging, service mesh or storage.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud‑native technologies (Kubernetes, Docker) and large‑scale system design.

Nice to Have

• Experience with PaaS platforms or service deployment systems.
• Knowledge of AI/ML platform infrastructure and tooling.
• Background in resource scheduling and optimisation.
• Contributions to open‑source infrastructure projects.
