About the Role
Google's Mumbai engineering hub is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer specialized in high‑throughput distributed systems. You will design, develop, test, and deploy backend services that operate at Google scale, serving billions of users across multiple global products.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and implement highly scalable, low‑latency backend services for core Google products.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (product, data, site reliability) to define system requirements and SLAs.
- Write production‑grade code in Go, Java, or C++ and ensure it meets Google’s performance and reliability standards.
- Conduct extensive testing, benchmarking, and performance tuning to handle massive traffic spikes.
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and on‑call rotations to maintain service health.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 5+ years of professional experience building large‑scale backend systems.
