About the Role

CKM Group, a leader in innovative health‑care solutions, is expanding its Berlin Coding Company (BCC) team. As a Backend Developer (m/w/d) you will design, develop and optimise high‑performance backend services that power our laboratory information systems, e‑health applications and AI‑enhanced workflows.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain backend services using PHP, Symfony and Doctrine, focusing on order‑ and report‑processing for laboratory workflows.
Design robust, versioned RESTful APIs and ensure seamless integration with external lab systems.
Implement asynchronous processing, message queues and event‑driven architecture for high scalability.
Write comprehensive unit, integration and end‑to‑end tests (PHPUnit, PHPStan, Playwright) and enforce code quality standards.
Participate in CI/CD pipelines, Docker‑based deployments and DDEV development environments.
Monitor performance, conduct profiling and troubleshoot production issues to guarantee 99.9% uptime.
Collaborate closely with product owners, UI/UX designers and data scientists to translate business needs into technical solutions.

Required Qualifications & Skills

3‑5 years of professional experience in backend development with PHP.
Strong expertise in Symfony framework and Doctrine ORM.
Proficient in designing RESTful APIs and working with relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL).
Hands‑on experience with Docker, CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, Jenkins) and DDEV.
Solid testing mindset: PHPUnit, PHPStan, and familiarity with Playwright for end‑to‑end tests.
Understanding of asynchronous processing (RabbitMQ, Symfony Messenger, or similar).
Good command of German or English for documentation and team communication.
