Frontend Engineer (SDE 3)

About the Role

KAI Nest is seeking a seasoned Frontend Engineer (SDE 3) to lead the design and delivery of high‑impact user interfaces for our next‑generation products. You will own complex features from concept to production, shape frontend architecture, and collaborate closely with designers and backend engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and maintain end‑to‑end frontend features using React, Next.js, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Translate intricate Figma designs and UX flows into production‑ready, responsive interfaces.
• Build custom interactive components, editors, and visual tools as required.
• Contribute to shared UI libraries, reusable component systems, and internal tooling.
• Integrate with REST APIs, implement advanced state management, and devise efficient data‑fetching strategies.
• Optimize rendering performance, bundle size, load time, and ensure smooth interactions.
• Apply caching, throttling, and security best practices to guarantee production‑grade reliability.
• Collaborate on high‑level and low‑level design documentation.
• Mentor junior engineers and champion code quality, testing, and accessibility standards.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• 5+ years of professional experience building large‑scale web applications.
• Deep expertise in React (hooks, context, concurrent features) and Next.js (SSR, SSG, ISR).
• Strong command of JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and modern CSS (Flexbox, Grid, CSS‑in‑JS).
• Proven ability to design performant, scalable UI architectures and troubleshoot bottlenecks.
• Solid understanding of web security, caching strategies, and throttling mechanisms.
• Experience with RDBMS (PostgreSQL or MySQL) for data‑driven UI components.
• Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1) and semantic markup.
• Version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.

Nice to Have

• Experience with GraphQL, WebSockets, or real‑time data streams.
• Knowledge of serverless platforms (Vercel, AWS Lambda).
• Background in design systems (Storybook, Figma Tokens).
• Contributions to open‑source frontend libraries.
