About the Role

We need a self‑starter who can take a feature from idea to production without waiting for a hand‑off. You will own frontend‑heavy features end‑to‑end – the UI, the state management, and the lightweight API layer that powers it. Strong fundamentals in JavaScript, CSS and HTML5 underpin your React, Tailwind and TypeScript work, and you ship fast using AI‑assisted coding tools by default.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and own frontend‑heavy features end‑to‑end across hoichoi’s web platforms, from component to API.
• Write clean, maintainable React + TypeScript code, leveraging Tailwind, ShadCN and MUI for rapid UI development.
• Partner with design to translate mockups into responsive, production‑grade interfaces across devices.
• Develop and maintain the lightweight backend/API layer that your frontend features depend on (Node.js, Express, serverless functions).
• Continuously improve performance, accessibility and visual polish of existing hoichoi surfaces.
• Collaborate with product, content and data teams to ship features that directly impact ~250 million Bengali users.
• Default to AI coding tools (Cursor, Copilot, Claude Code, etc.) to accelerate delivery while exercising sound judgement on when to intervene manually.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• 3‑5 years of professional experience building web applications with React and TypeScript.
• Strong grasp of modern JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5 and CSS3.
• Hands‑on experience with Tailwind CSS and component libraries such as ShadCN or MUI.
• Proficiency in building lightweight APIs using Node.js/Express or serverless frameworks.
• Familiarity with RESTful services, GraphQL is a plus.
• Comfort using AI‑assisted development tools to boost productivity.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills, attention to detail and a user‑first mindset.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Next.js or other React meta‑frameworks.
• Knowledge of performance optimization techniques (code‑splitting, lazy loading, caching).
• Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1).
• Exposure to video streaming platforms or OTT ecosystems.
• Basic familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP).
