About the Role
MG is a fast‑scaling tech innovation hub focused on SaaS and digital transformation. We build enterprise‑grade web applications and scalable API ecosystems for global clients using modern PHP stacks and clean architectural patterns. As a Laravel Team Lead you will be the technical backbone of our engineering culture, driving delivery, mentoring talent, and ensuring architectural excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of Laravel‑based web applications and high‑traffic, multi‑tenant RESTful API services.
- Architect, code, review, and optimise MySQL schemas and complex queries for performance, integrity and scalability.
- Enforce API best practices: versioning, authentication, pagination, rate limiting, and maintain up‑to‑date OpenAPI/Swagger documentation.
- Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, pair programming and architectural walkthroughs.
- Collaborate with frontend and DevOps teams to deploy, monitor and automate Laravel apps via CI/CD pipelines.
- Champion engineering standards: PSR, SOLID, DRY, automated testing (PHPUnit) and production observability.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 5+ years of professional experience building large‑scale Laravel applications.
- Deep expertise in MySQL schema design, indexing strategies and query optimisation.
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design, authentication mechanisms (OAuth2/JWT) and documentation tools (Swagger/OpenAPI).
- Proficiency with PHPUnit, Composer, Git and CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.).
- Experience leading technical teams, conducting code reviews and driving engineering best practices.
Nice to Have
- Docker containerisation and orchestration.
- Redis for caching and session management.
- Advanced CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar.
