PHP Tech Lead (Laravel, CodeIgniter & MySQL)

About the Role

TalentScale HR Advisory, a leading HR advisory and technology enablement firm, is looking for a seasoned PHP Tech Lead to drive high‑impact projects for our fintech and enterprise clients. Based in Andheri East, Mumbai, you will work in a hybrid model, collaborating with product, QA, and operations teams to deliver scalable, secure, and performant solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of 6‑10 PHP developers, fostering best practices and continuous learning.
• Architect, design, and implement RESTful APIs and micro‑services using Laravel, CodeIgniter and LAMP/WAMP stacks.
• Own end‑to‑end delivery: from requirement gathering, sprint planning, code reviews, to production deployment.
• Drive CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, GitLab CI, Maven/Gradle and ensure smooth releases across dev, QA, and prod environments.
• Manage database design, performance tuning, and migrations for MySQL, Oracle and PL/SQL databases.
• Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical specifications.
• Oversee post‑production support, incident management and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• 5+ years of hands‑on PHP development experience, with deep expertise in Laravel and CodeIgniter.
• Strong command over MySQL, Oracle, PL/SQL, and database optimization techniques.
• Proficiency in building and documenting REST, XML, JSON, and Swagger APIs.
• Hands‑on experience with Linux/Unix server administration, Nginx/Apache configuration, and containerisation basics.
• Solid understanding of design patterns, data structures, caching (Redis, Memcached) and multi‑threaded n‑tier application design.
• Extensive experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, Maven/Gradle) and version control (GitHub, GitLab).
• Proven track record of leading cross‑functional teams and delivering projects on time.

Nice to Have

• Domain experience in financial services, payments or banking.
• Exposure to serverless frameworks (AWS Lambda, Azure Functions) and Docker/Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of security standards (OWASP, PCI‑DSS) and performance testing tools.
