About the Role
Dr. Martens is looking for a senior front‑end engineer to shape the digital experience of our global customers. Based in Bengaluru, you will work within the Customer Discovery Team to build responsive, high‑performance web interfaces that reflect the brand’s authentic style and values.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain complex multi‑channel UI components using React, Next.js and Storybook.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers, product owners and backend engineers to translate business requirements into pixel‑perfect, accessible interfaces.
- Drive performance optimization initiatives (code‑splitting, lazy loading, caching) and monitor front‑end metrics.
- Own the end‑to‑end delivery lifecycle in an Agile (Scrum/Kanban) environment, identifying risks and removing bottlenecks.
- Leverage data‑driven insights to iterate on UI/UX decisions and demonstrate impact on conversion and engagement.
- Mentor junior developers and champion best practices for code quality, testing, and documentation.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 4+ years of hands‑on experience with HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
- Minimum 1 year of experience building applications with Next.js and creating component libraries in Storybook.
- Strong understanding of responsive design, cross‑browser compatibility, and web accessibility (WCAG 2.1).
- Proficiency with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile project management tools (Jira, Azure DevOps).
- Ability to analyze performance metrics and implement optimizations (Lighthouse, Web Vitals).
Nice to Have
- Experience with TypeScript, GraphQL, or server‑side rendering patterns.
- Knowledge of micro‑frontend architecture and containerization (Docker).
- Familiarity with A/B testing platforms and analytics tools (Google Analytics, Mixpanel).
