Senior PHP Developer

About the Role

iMorphosis, a leading digital solutions provider in Kolkata, is seeking a seasoned Senior PHP Developer to lead the design, development, and delivery of high‑quality web applications for our diverse client portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clients to translate business requirements into robust technical specifications.
• Architect, develop, and maintain scalable PHP applications using Laravel, CodeIgniter, Symfony, or Magento.
• Mentor junior developers, conduct code reviews, and drive best‑practice adoption across the team.
• Ensure timely project delivery while adhering to quality standards and SDLC processes.
• Optimize database schemas and write complex SQL queries for performance‑critical modules.
• Participate in agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• 5+ years of professional PHP development experience with a strong OOP and MVC background.
• Proficiency in one or more of the following frameworks: Laravel, CodeIgniter, Symfony, Magento.
• Solid understanding of front‑end technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap, AJAX.
• Advanced MySQL skills, including query optimization and complex joins.
• Experience with Linux environments, version control (Git), and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent communication, estimation, and QA/testing capabilities.

Nice to Have

• Experience with micro‑services architecture and RESTful API design.
• Knowledge of caching mechanisms (Redis, Memcached) and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with Docker or container‑based deployments.
