Frontend Engineer

About the Role

Weekday AI, a Y Combinator W21 startup, is building AI‑powered workflow solutions for planners and supply‑chain teams. We’re looking for a Frontend Engineer to craft high‑performance, reactive interfaces that empower users to make faster, data‑driven decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop robust React + TypeScript UI components for complex, multi‑step workflows.
• Implement real‑time features using WebSockets, Server‑Sent Events, and streaming APIs.
• Collaborate with backend engineers to define APIs, data models, and persistence strategies.
• Own feature delivery end‑to‑end, from design and implementation to testing and production monitoring.
• Build state‑management solutions that handle approvals, overrides, and error recovery.
• Optimize performance and accessibility across browsers and devices.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• 5+ years of professional experience building large‑scale web applications.
• Expertise in React, TypeScript, modern JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and real‑time communication protocols (WebSockets, SSE).
• Experience with state‑management libraries (Redux, Zustand, or similar).
• Proficiency in version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to write clean, testable code and champion best practices.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Node.js/Express for full‑stack ownership.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and serverless architectures.
• Experience in supply‑chain or logistics domains.
• Exposure to containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
