About the Role
Avnet is seeking a proactive Cybersecurity Analyst II to join our 24/7 Security Operations Centre (SOC) in Bengaluru. You will investigate complex security events, lead incident response for high‑impact cases, and mentor junior analysts while ensuring thorough documentation and shift hand‑overs.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and triage alerts across multiple security platforms in a 24x7 SOC environment.
- Lead investigation and response for escalated incidents, assessing scope, severity, and business impact.
- Coordinate containment, remediation, and escalation actions with cross‑functional teams.
- Provide technical guidance to Security Analyst I teammates during shifts.
- Document investigations, create post‑incident reports, and improve playbooks.
- Conduct threat‑hunting activities and develop detection rules.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
- 2‑5 years of hands‑on experience in security operations, incident response, or SOC environments.
- Strong knowledge of SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar, or similar) and log analysis.
- Experience with malware analysis, phishing investigations, and network traffic inspection.
- Proficiency in Python or PowerShell for automation of repetitive tasks.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
Nice to Have
- Certifications such as CISSP, GSEC, or OSCP.
- Familiarity with cloud security (AWS, Azure) and container security.
- Experience with endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions.
