About the Role
Join Google's engineering team at the Gurugram campus (Signature Towers) as a Frontend Software Engineer focused on Web Standards & Chrome for Google Workspace Core. You will design, develop, test, and ship web solutions that serve billions of users worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement high‑performance, standards‑compliant UI components for Google Workspace core products.
- Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and backend engineers to deliver end‑to‑end features.
- Optimize rendering pipelines and memory usage in the Chrome engine to meet strict performance targets.
- Ensure accessibility (a11y) and internationalization across all user‑facing components.
- Write comprehensive unit, integration, and end‑to‑end tests and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and technical leadership activities.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 5+ years of professional experience building large‑scale web applications.
- Deep expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript, modern frameworks (React) and Web Components.
- Strong understanding of browser internals, especially Chrome’s rendering engine.
- Proficiency with HTML5, CSS3, responsive design, and performance optimization techniques.
- Experience with accessibility standards (WCAG) and internationalization.
- Solid grasp of automated testing (Jest, Karma, Selenium) and CI/CD workflows.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
