Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), Core Infrastructure

About the Role

Join Google's engineering team in Mumbai (Google Mumbai Campus, Bandra Kurla Complex). As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) focusing on Core Infrastructure, you will design, develop, test, and deploy software solutions at Google scale, impacting billions of users across global Google products.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate highly available, scalable core infrastructure services.
• Develop automation tools and frameworks to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Implement robust monitoring, alerting, and incident response processes.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and security teams to drive reliability best practices.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and lead post‑mortems for high‑impact incidents.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• 5+ years of experience in site reliability, production support, or related engineering roles.
• Strong programming/scripting skills in Python, Go, or similar languages.
• Deep knowledge of Linux/Unix systems and networking.
• Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes, containers, and orchestration.
• Proficiency in building and maintaining large‑scale distributed systems.
• Expertise in monitoring, logging, and alerting tools (e.g., Prometheus, Stackdriver).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Cloud Deployment Manager).

Nice to Have

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform services.
• Knowledge of Go or Java for backend development.
• Familiarity with SRE concepts such as SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets.
• Contributions to open‑source projects or internal tooling.
