About the Role
Join Google’s Hyderabad engineering team as a Cloud API Solutions Architect for the Apigee Enterprise Platform. In this role you will design, develop, test and deploy scalable API solutions that serve billions of users across Google’s global product portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and implement end‑to‑end API solutions on Apigee, ensuring performance, security and compliance at scale.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate business requirements into robust API designs and deployment pipelines.
- Lead the design of microservice patterns, gateway policies, and caching strategies that meet strict latency and throughput targets.
- Mentor junior engineers and drive best practices in API governance, versioning and monitoring.
- Work closely with product and security teams to enforce API security, rate limiting, and quota policies.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 5+ years of experience designing and operating large‑scale API platforms.
- Deep expertise with Apigee Edge, API gateway policies, and API management best practices.
- Strong background in cloud architecture (GCP, Kubernetes, Docker) and microservices design.
- Proficiency in Java or Go for backend service development.
- Experience with API security (OAuth2, JWT, API keys) and rate limiting strategies.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex distributed systems.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated API testing.
- Knowledge of performance monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Cloud Monitoring).
- Familiarity with data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) as they apply to API design.
