Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), Core Infrastructure

About the Role

Google's Mumbai engineering hub is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) focused on Core Infrastructure. You will design, develop, test, and deploy software solutions at Google scale, serving billions of users worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain highly available, performant, and secure infrastructure services.
• Develop automation tools and frameworks using Python, Go, and Bash.
• Implement and manage large‑scale Kubernetes clusters and related services.
• Design, provision, and evolve infrastructure as code with Terraform and Cloud Deployment Manager.
• Ensure reliability through monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to drive reliability best practices.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in site reliability, production engineering, or DevOps.
• Strong proficiency in Linux systems administration.
• Programming/scripting experience in Python and Go.
• Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration.
• Infrastructure‑as‑code expertise with Terraform or similar tools.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, monitoring (Prometheus, Stackdriver) and alerting.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform services.
• Knowledge of networking, security, and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with SRE concepts such as SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets.
